关于SAT化学
The SAT II chemistry subject test is written specifically to test the student’s conceptual understanding in topics that are typically taught in a college level preparatory course for chemistry. The test has 85 multiple choice questions over a wide range of different topics and has to be completed within an hour. It has to be emphasized that the test is designed to evaluate conceptual understanding rather than the ability of the student to perform complicated quantitative calculations. A brief overview of the topics tested is listed below:
Topic 1: Structure of matter (25%)
Atomic theory and structure, molecular structures, bonding, periodic trends
Topic 2: States of matter (16%)
Theory of gases, gas laws, liquids and solids, solutions, colligative properties
Topic 3: Reaction types (14%)
Acids and bases, redox reactions, precipitation reactions
Topic 4: Stoichiometry (14%)
Topic 5: Equilibrium and reaction rates
Topic 6: Thermochemistry
Topic 7: Descriptive chemistry

51UStudy’s SAT II Chemistry preparatory course how to effectively apply strategies to prepare for the SAT II Chemistry test by familiarizing them with the test structure as well as the three different question types that are present on the test. It takes place over several sessions which add up to 20 hours. It will be segregated into two parts:
Course prep (13 hours)
Course preparation starts with a diagnostic test aimed at finding out which topics the student needs additional help in, with course notes that are tailored specifically to the needs of the student. Two topics will be covered every session, and the student will get plenty of practice questions as the topics are covered in order to consolidate his understanding of the topics
Mock examinations (7 hours)
Full length SAT practice tests will be made available to the student after he has learned the preparatory material to a satisfactory level. Each practice test will be conducted under test conditions and aims to get the student acquainted with the format of the test, as well as the test conditions on the actual day. This also helps the tutor identify which areas the student still needs improvement in, allowing for a truly targeted approach for the student’s learning.
